The break-in period for the XJ550 is now in its final stages, with 370km remaining.

Coincidentally, Mr. T's CB1100RD also seems to be in its final stages...

"Shall we go somewhere together for the final break-in period?"

So we decided to go on a "break-in tour" together.

The essential items for the break-in period arrived the day before, so we installed them before Mr. T arrived.

"Throttle lock"

We bought it in the hope of making the break-in period easier by fixing the throttle = constant engine speed.

February 23, 2023, sunny weather

Odometer before departure: 633km (trip: 629km)

Leaving the store for Tomei Hamamatsu IC.

We drove straight down the highway as indicated by the Google navigation system.

I was looking forward to the throttle lock, but the engine RPMs just kept going up and down and it didn't work as expected...

I drove on the highway for a while and was invited to a toll road I didn't really understand...

"There's some kind of traffic jam..."

Today, February 23rd, is Thursday but a national holiday.

"Well, it won't be a problem if I just slip through..."

Just as I was thinking that, Google navigation told me to get off the toll road.

I got off the toll road as instructed...

Then it told me to "drive straight and get back on the toll road"!

"What is this???" I ignored it and drove on the local roads for a while.

But Google navigation just told me to "make a U-turn and go back to the toll road!"

"I've been tricked!" I thought, but in these situations I don't take it optimistically and I'm extremely cautious.

Is the navigation malfunctioning? I don't know if I should have gone straight, but the current situation is "definitely not good." (I recognize it as a sign that something bad is about to happen.)

I decided to avoid making a U-turn and go back to the original road by making a "left turn" → "left turn" → "left turn" → "right turn" in the residential area, which is the least amount of right turns I had to make.

I got off the bike and ran to Mr. T behind me, and told him that I had been fooled by the navigation system and taken the wrong road.

I thought about telling him my beliefs and thoughts at that time, but I thought he would say, "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" so I just said, "Let's be careful!"

I started driving, made two left turns, and realized that "if I make another right turn I'll be back on the original main road, and if I just keep going along the road I'll be back on the original toll road."

"I won't make this right turn unless there's a clear path!!"

And that's when I stopped for a moment and waited for the traffic on both sides to clear!!

"Gwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!"

I heard a death cry from behind me!

I turned around and saw T-san lying on his side!

I calmly put my XJ on the sidewalk and (trying to hold back my laughter) ran over to T-san.

"Are you okay?"

I asked,

"Seriously? Seriously?"

Mr. T kept repeating that to me...

"Are you okay? What's wrong?"

I asked,

"Seriously? Seriously?"

Mr. T kept repeating that over and over...

"Are you okay? What happened???" I asked, and Mr. T kept repeating "Seriously? Seriously?". "Why do you keep saying that? (lol) Please say something else too (lol)" Ah, I couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing!! (⇐Please don't think I'm a terrible bike shop owner lol) 1. The last words of my acquaintance's death throes that lingered in my mind 2. A video of my acquaintance and his famous CB1100R lying on their side 3. My acquaintance repeatedly repeating "Seriously? Seriously?" as if he had broken down I could have endured any of these two... Sorry for laughing, Mr. T... "We've been riding nonstop since morning, should we take a break?" he said, lighting a cigarette. During the break, I told T, "The navigation system took me to a toll road, and I ended up going the wrong way. I was going to tell him when we stopped earlier that it might be a sign that something bad is going to happen, but I didn't!!" and he replied, "Ya-ya! Ya-ya!"...

I pulled myself together and started driving again.

After driving for a while, I arrived at my first destination. (12:02 PM)
